Following her self-inflicted stabbing wounds, Ted Cruz’s daughter addresses speculation.
The teenage daughter of Senator Ted Cruz is speaking out after rumors surfaced that she stabbed herself while in the hospital earlier this week.
Teenage Caroline Cruz took to TikTok on Wednesday to put an end to the speculations swirling about her after the previous day’s medical attention-seeking rumours that she had stabbed herself.
After realizing that “the media is… causing my mental health to be exploited for their gain,” Cruz took matters into her own hands, as she put it. It annoys me too when people assume things about my motives.
It was clear from the caption that the child was reading directly from a script. She then went on to disprove a few theories.
Nothing to do with my dad or my sexuality was involved, no. She made it clear that she is no longer contemplating suicide, but rather coping with mental health issues and getting the assistance she requires. I am deeply appreciative of your love and support, which mean the absolute most to me. The fact that it has received so much media attention, though, is the most distressing part of the whole thing.
Despite Cruz’s assertions that she is “feeling a lot better,” she cautioned viewers against jumping to conclusions.
On Tuesday, officials responded to claims of a wounded 14-year-old by visiting the home of the Republican senator from Houston.
“To my delight, their daughter is doing fine,” his press office told KTRK. “We did not report any major injuries.”
